Gypsy is an 8 year old toy poodle who is a breeder release .She weighs just 6 pounds and is a bundle of snuggles!

Gypsy does not like the crate- she will cry and bark when placed in one unless in the car for travel- however we making strides with her getting use to it .

Her favorite place to sleep is by your head at night or very near you on the bed. She does not have potty accidents at night as long as you take her outside prior to bedtime (around 9-10), and then carry her immediately out upon you waking (usually by 7-8 no paws touching the floor) Due to her still learning to walk on a leash, her size and her shyness outside of the breeding program still- a secure fenced in yard is required for her.

She gets along well with dogs larger than her and of both genders-she will bark and low growl at them to play. She can be a bit bossy with dogs her own size or smaller. She also has recently began to try to steal the other dogs food before she eats her own. This behavior just started in the foster home so we changed up the feeding pattern of the resident dogs and her- simply feeding her separately.

She has met the foster family’s cats and did fine with them- she was a bit let down that they didn’t listen to her growl/bark to play with her however lol!

She has met small children and they scared her because of how quick they are- she just hides or will want on your lap to make sure they don’t get her. So older respectful kids would be okay.

Having another dog in the home that Gypsy can follow their lead on potty training and leash walking would help speed things along for her- she also could easily be the only dog in the home as well.

She Adores her humans much more than the other dogs in the foster home. She wants to be by YOUR side as you watch TV, loves to be combed out, allows all handling, and at times will do a little dance on her back legs if your not fast enough to put her food bowl down.

Gypsy is gaining more confidence each day- and would make someone very happy to have her as their girl! She has found her voice in the last few weeks so apartment settings probably isn’t the fit for her.

She tested positive for Lymes disease due to a tick bite. She is on medication for 30 days to resolve that. However, it is imperative that she is kept on flea and tick prevention year round as to not have a reoccurrence.

Poodles require grooming or they can quickly get matted- luckily she loves to be combed/brushed so grooming would be less often if you keep up on her hair with this bonding way.

She is in the process of potty training and leash training- so any potential adopters would need to continue both processes.

If you are interested in meeting Gypsy, she will be available after her spay on November 15.
