Meet Swiss! Swiss is a female black labrador retriever who was born April 13, 2021. She is an extremely playful and loving puppy. She lives with dogs of all ages, genders, and sizes and has made quick friends with everyone. Swiss does live with a cat who she is very interested in being friends with but the cat has other opinions. Swiss is crated when alone at home and overnight without issue. She is also working on her potty training and does best with a schedule. If you do not take her out in time, she will use a potty pad if one is available. Swiss has met children and loved them! 

Swiss came to us from a reputable breeder out of state after her and some of her littermates began showing symptoms of a condition called megaesophagus.

Swiss does have a very mild form of this condition and it is easily managed. She is given a pill roughly 30-45 minutes before meals to help her stomach move food through her system. She eats twice a day. Her dry food is ground into a powder and then mixed with water to a mush texture. She is fed standing up and with the use of a slow feeder bowl. Swiss cannot eat straight kibble and cannot drink water. Please contact the rescue if you have any questions about the condition and her foster mom would be happy to help!
