Doc Watson came to us a breeder release. He initially was extremely timid and almost fearful of humans but that didn’t last very long. Within a few days of getting him he came out of his shell and was interacting with our 2 sons as well as our boxer, Eva. Since he never lived in a home we had a lot go teach him- like using the restroom outside, walking on a leash and of course going up and down stairs. He mastered the leash walking and stairs pretty quickly but we are still working on the house breaking with him. He came to us with Giardia and worms, all parasitic infections, so the medication he has been on can be contributing to his slower than usual house breaking. But I will say, he’s almost there and within a few weeks he will hopefully be 100 percent housebroken!

He has an amazing personality. He is so sweet and when you pet him he snorts but beware because he may keep you all up night snoring!

He gets along famously with our
Boxer. They play hard but then sleep hard too- usually right next to one another.

He gets along great with children and has been known to cuddle up in their laps when they are on the couch. He also enjoys car rides. He likes to look out the window for awhile before passing out in the seat.

Overall, he is an amazing dog with so much more potential. Having gone through the canine good citizen program with another one of our dogs, I can see him being a good candidate for that with some basic dog behavioral training!
