Meet Penny! She's a 2 year old Pomeranian who came to us as a breeder release. She had never lived in a home prior to ending up in foster care, but she's certainly enjoying her new life. Penny can be somewhat shy meeting new people, but is won over rather quickly with food...she loves food. She is sweet as can be once she trusts you and absolutely adores attention. She wants to be wherever her people are. She is currently living with a large dog, small dog and 3 cats in her foster home. She gets along great with all of them. While she mostly just co-exists with the other animals, she does enjoy a little play time here and there. She would likely be very happy with another dog willing to engage with her, in her new home. Penny is still puppy-like at times and loves to drag her toys (and other items she finds around the house) to her favorite spot. Once she's done "collecting", she passes out and takes a snooze next to her pile. However, she is beyond the chewy/nippy stage of puppy hood. She doesn't chew the items she collects and when it comes to people, she prefers to give kisses over nibbles. Aside from her toy collecting, she is quite calm in the house and can often be found napping the day away. She saves her energy for running laps in the backyard, which she LOVES to do. She does this multiple times a day and it brings her a lot of joy. It's so cute watching her prance around the yard with a smile on her face. Penny does need continued work on housebreaking. She is doing well in her foster home, but needs frequent trips outside to remind her where to go. So, any potential adopter should be prepared to continue her training. She doesn't understand, just yet, that she can go potty on walks, so for these reasons (running laps and housebreaking), we'd prefer Penny go to a home with a fenced in backyard. Aside from needing work on potty training, she is a wonderful little dog. She is a happy-go-lucky girl, with the best temperament. She often makes her foster family smile and laugh. She would fit in well with many different families as long as there is a willingness to provide her with love and patience while she settles in.
