WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR LIBBY. SHE HAS A MILD SKIN INFECTION AT THIS TIME. ONCE SHE COMPLETES HER MEDICATION AND HER SKIN IS BETTER, WE WILL CONSIDER ALL APPLICATIONS THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE ON FILE FOR HER FOREVER HOME PLACEMENT!  THANK YOU!1

Awesome Dog Alert! Meet our doll-baby, Libby. This pretty lady was given up by her owners – they didn't want her and frankly, they didn't deserve her. Libby hasn't always been treated very nice, but all that has changed since coming into rescue.

Libby is a 4 year old Golden Retriever. Her markings tend to make her appear older, but that's not the case. Her face and chest are much more blonde in color than some Goldens. Libby isn't a very large golden girl. She came in very underweight and has now gained enough to be at a healthy weight. She could still use a few more pounds just to fill her out, but that will come in time. We've also had Libby spayed, tested her for heart worm, and updated her vaccines. Libby requires a home where she can be the only dog She is not dog aggressive and isn't going to react to a passing dog, but she would be happiest not having to share her food or her people. She's gone without food, love and attention, so we don't blame her.

Libby has a beautiful temperament. She is so full of love! Libby is totally housebroken. She had one accident when she first came into her foster home, but has never had an accident since. Libby is not crate trained, however. She's not used to being crated and since she is no trouble, she is allowed free run of most of her foster home when alone. She does not jump or knock over baby gates so she is easily restricted from certain parts of the house. Libby doesn't chew or get into trouble when she's alone. Libby likes her “tuggy” but will only play if you want to play with her. She will chase after it as if she was playing fetch, but she's not always perfect with the return. She loves bully sticks and dental bones, but loves snuggling the most. Libby is extremely affectionate. She will nudge your arm in hopes of getting a good petting. She does jump up sometimes, but she is incredibly light footed and not the type to knock anyone over, but loves to jump up for a hug! She is flawless with children and has been around children of all ages without a problem. She rides well in the car and walks on a leash, though she could use a little refining with that. Libby is not the type of dog to run away from the person she loves- she's insanely loyal- to a fault. Libby's previous owners actually tried to throw her out of the house, but Libby wouldn't leave. She sat by the door waiting for them to come back for her. We do not suggest off leashing any dog for their safety and our adoption agreement requires our dogs to be leashed when not in secure areas, however Libby is not the type to run away, break out of the yard or dash out the door. She doesn't want to be away from those that she loves.

Libby deserves to know the good life now- a stable, loving forever home where her needs will always be met and exceeded. She will certainly be a blessing in the lives of her new family members. If you'd like to adopt Libby, please submit your adoption application today!
