Sara is the most adorable little yorkie princess ever! She has a chubby little frame and a silly sway in her walk that makes her hard to resist! Sara was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter after her owner passed away.

Upon arriving in rescue, Sara was very frightened, in serious need of a grooming and exhausted! Its a long trip and a lot for a 9 lb dog to handle. It took Sara a few days to really settle into her foster home. She remains apprehensive in her new surroundings but finds comfort in her foster mom. Sarah weighed in a 9lbs, and clearly accustomed to eating people food. For quite some time she turned her nose up at dog food and it has taken some encouragement for her to eat her kibble. Sara has made a trip to our vet. She has luxating patellas, a condition that is very common in small dogs. We talked about the possibility of corrective surgery but our vet felt strongly that it was not necessary and that Sara just needs to loose a pound or so and will be much more comfortable. She is not in any pain due to this condition and it may progress in the future, but as of right now, our vet's only course of action was a diet for sweet little Sara.

We feel that Sara is a nervous dog by nature. She is not housebroken yet, but her foster mom is working on it! She has made several trips out into the big wide world with her foster mom and has really seemed to enjoy their outings once she gets past the initial fear. Sara is fine with other dogs, though on the independent side. Due to Sara's nervous nature, we feel a home without children would be best for her. Sara is looking for her forever home! Could that be with you?
