Little Spot is very mild mannered, mellow, and full of love to offer. He enjoys the company of people and does not mind other dogs or cats. He does not, however, enjoy having rawhides taken from his mouth or being pushed off the furniture... when someone tries to do this, he will growl and if they persist, he may nip.... it is important to stress that these are the only two times we ever see this behavior from Spot, all other times he is a wonderful and loving dog who seems happy go lucky and enjoys to relax. Because of the rawhides and couch behavior, we believe that he has mild possession aggression... this simply means that he thinks he is the boss when it comes to those two things... we are working on knocking him down the chain of command a little bit by rewarding him when we take things from him and he does not growl and by squirting him with a water bottle when he does not want off the couch... over time, his issue will be gone, but in the meantime, we feel more comfortable adopting him to a family without young kids...
