Update: 5/17/11 - We are placing Gizzy on medical hold. Beneath all that matted fur were several hot spots and he has also itched and chewed himself causing several scabbed areas. You may still submit an application if you are interested in Gizzy, but he will be unable to leave the rescue until these areas are healed.

Gizzy is a beautiful 4 year old Pekingese boy that is the product of a divorce. Gizzy had a hard time transitioning into his foster home. He just could not understand where his family was and who these new people were. Gizzy just needed some time to soak it all in, poke around and relax. After just a couple days, Gizzy has really settled in and become excepting of his new surroundings and the new people in his life.

Gizzy loves to be by his foster mom’s side. When she sits down, Gizzy makes his way over and sits at her feet. He greets her with a wagging tail when she returns home and is always in the mood for a tummy rub. Gizzy is fabulously housebroken and walks well on a leash. He sleeps on a blanket on the couch each night and is very well behaved.

All in all, Gizzy is a sweet, low energy little guy. He would love to have a family again but we do not feel he would do well with children. It does take Gizzy a few days to settle into a new home and during that time, he will need a little space. He needs to know he is safe before us people lay it on thick. After that, Gizzy is smooth sailing and will become someone’s best friend in no time!
