Her momma is going to miss her terribly, but Kahlua's spirit will stay with her to keep her going for all the other doggies that still need her help. Rest peaceful little one...
While we are taking applications on Kahlua at this time, we are not entirely sure what the final results will be prior to her adoption. Kahlua has a liver shunt, which is a birth defect that can cause many problems in dogs. We are weighing options to see if this is repairable, but we fear it may not be. If the vet gives the okay, we will have the shunt repaired and will wait for her full recovery before adoption takes place. If the vet deems it irrepairable, we will adopt her out as is to a VERY dog illness educated individual whom has no other pets. The reason being is that should she be adopted with the shunt, she will never ever be able to eat meat products and will need to be on a very special diet available only through a vet. Having other pets would be a risk for her getting ahold of food she should not eat. If you think you have what it takes to adopt this girl should she not be able to have surgery, then please apply today. Be prepared to get quizzed on every aspect of liver shunt's disease during the screening process.
Kahlua has been ADOPTED!
