Maggie is a special tiny (15 lb) dog who was abused in her past. She is now suffering the repercussions of that abuse as she is a mild epileptic and a fear nipper. This is a VERY sweet and loyal dog, but she must get to know the person for a few days before becoming that way. She is NOT aggressive, she is extremely docile and very loving, but again she must know the person first. When we first brought her into our home, she would growl at me if I went down to pet her, and if I pushed to hard she would snap at me, but not bite. By day three she became an entirely different dog, she cuddles with me, loves to be on my lap and seems to have become very dependent on me. At three days, she began to trust that I was not going to hurt her and that is when she came around to me. Here we are after some time later, and we took her to the vet where she again snarled at the doctor because she does not know him. It will take a special kind of person to adopt Maggie, it must be someone with patience and understanding.
Maggie must be on Phenobarbital twice daily for the rest of her life. The meds are quite inexpensive (30 days worth for 12 dollars), but her adopter must be responsible enough to not forget those meds as she will seize if a dose is missed... on the meds, she has not had any seizures.
If you are compassionate, patient, interested in the true meaning of rescue and want to be rewarded for your efforts in the form of a loving and loyal companion like no other... then, you should consider Maggie.
